Andria Whipple, LPC

I hold a Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling from Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, OK. Major course work included human growth and development and multicultural counseling.  My approach is a strength-based approach, as I work collaboratively with my clients to understand their view and help them discover new ways to work towards their goals. My clinical approach draws upon the perspectives and techniques of various therapeutic models such as cognitive behavioral, acceptance and commitment, solution focused, parent child interaction, and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing. I understand that every person is unique and will address specific needs utilizing other counseling approaches when appropriate.

Hello! I am a queer, white, gender-wondering person whose goal is to deliver treatment that is rooted in respect for the worth and dignity of every person. I am learning to reject white supremacy culture through education and deep listening so that I can provide a safe and trauma-informed experience to anyone seeking mental health services. My theoretical approach to therapy is eclectic; mainly drawing from, but not limited to, Client Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, and positive parenting interventions, with experience in DBT skills.

I focus on working with children, youth and families. Many of my mentors and training, focus on a Narrative approach to therapy. I strive to engage in a trust-based relationship in therapy and understand the unique story of the young people and their families that I work with, and collaborating to build on the strengths of these narratives. Catering to these unique stories, I incorporate a variety of approaches into therapy.
